Generation of a Spatial Conservation Easements Database
for the Pennsylvania Farmland Protection Program – Phase III
Funding Agency: PA Dept of Agriculture
Project Dates: 10/1/02 – 6/30/04
Primary Researcher: Greg Luna
The LAL maintains the GIS database of all farms where PDA funding has been used to purchase a conservation easement to prevent any further development from occurring.
Greg is creating a statewide master easement layer that shows all of the preserved farmland for Pennsylvania; to do this, the easement legal descriptions or traverses are used to place the easements within ArcMap.
Regular updates are provided to PA Department of Agriculture. This data is in turn made available to PDA employees via an internal database.
