This is a new project we are working on with PDA. There is great interest at PDA in the ability to track animal production from birth to the local grocery store. The first step in this process is to understand the exact location of all current animal operations on Pennsylvania. This project has serious implications for future homeland defense and security of our food production.
The Penn State Cooperative Extension, Geospatial Technology Program (GTP) Land Analysis Lab is a research,
cooperative extension, and teaching program in the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University.
We specialize in the use of GIS and related advanced information system technologies for environmental assessment, agriculture,
and land management and planning.
