In Pennsylvania over 30 percent of farmland is not farmed by the landowner but is leased to a farmer who works the land. Agricultural land can be lost to other uses when landowners who do not plan to farm their land any longer cannot find a farmer to take over. FarmMap provides a free and easy way for farmers and landowners to connect and keep valuable agricultural land in production which in turn helps assure a viable future for Pennsylvania agriculture.

Farmland TransitionsFarmMap allows landowners to advertise their farmland as available for lease or sale, describe farm characteristics and facilities and state terms and conditions. Farmers seeking to buy or lease land can search the entire state for available farmland based on farm and land characteristics important to their operations. Those seeking property for agricultural uses can also post a request, and landowners can browse the database to see if anyone may be interested in buying or leasing land that they own.
