About RGIS - Chesapeake Penn State
The Penn State Cooperative Extension, Geospatial Technology Program (GTP) is a research, cooperative extension, and teaching facility in the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University. The GTP specializes in the use of GIS and related advanced information system technologies for environmental assessment, agriculture, and land management and planning. The GTP research can be divided into 2 main groups:
1. Outreach: Penn State Cooperative Extension
The Cooperative Extension emphasizes both eduction and Technology transfer of geographic information system (GIS) and related technologies to clients throughout Pennsylvania. Special emphasis of the program deals with environmental and local government applications.
2. Research: Geospatial Technology Program, Land Analysis Lab
The Land Analysis Lab (LAL) specializes in the use of GIS and related advanced information system technologies for environmental assessment, agriculture, land management and planning.
